MGIMO’s diverse student body of 6,000 is drawn from the top ranks of Russian students and from partner universities around the world. MGIMO offers a broad range of courses at undergraduate and graduate levels — from international affairs, political science, economics, and international law, to journalism, business management, and energy policy. International undergraduates can apply for a fully English-taught B.A. program or choose from challenging and exciting courses in Russian. Students seeking a Master degree can apply for one of MGIMO’s groundbreaking double-degree programs, offered in partnership with international institutions, or seek a place in one of more than thirty MA programs taught in Russian.

International Summer School

MGIMO Summer School 2014 offers two three-week English-language modules on Russian foreign policy and international relations in June and July.

Each module includes a major course instruction (30 contact hours and written test, 4 ECTS credits), a choice of two elective courses (16 contact hours, 2 ECTS credits) and 30 contact hours of Russian language course (2 ECTS credits). Courses in English cover such issues as Russian foreign policy, Russia and the world economy, contemporary Russian energy policy, political trends in Russia and others.

Russian language instruction offers courses for international students at different levels, depending on their proficiency in the Russian language.

Approximately 20-25 undergraduate and graduate students participate yearly in the International Summer School and are accommodated on campus in shared double rooms with amenities. International Summer School students are invited to participate in cultural and social events in Moscow and the surrounding area and have fee-based access to gymnasium, sports and swimming facilities.

MODULE I: June 23 – July 13

Major course: Russian foreign policy: modern challenges (4 ECTS credits)

Elective courses: Empirical study of Russian politics (2 ECTS credits) or Russia in Asia: politics, economy, security (2 ECTS credits)

Russian language course (4 ECTS credits)

Fee: EUR 2000 (or EUR 1700 without Russian language course)

MODULE II: July 14 – August 03

Major course: Contemporary Russian energy policy (4 ECTS credits)

Elective courses: Russia in the world economy (2 ECTS credits) or Russia and CIS (2 ECTS credits)

Russian language course (4 ECTS credits)

Fee: EUR 2000 (or EUR 1700 without Russian language course)

The fee covers application processing, tuition, accommodation and most part of the cultural and leisure program.
