Master's Program "Mechanics of natural processes" aimed at training highly qualified specialists for the institutes, research centers and companies that specialize in modeling, forecasting and risk assessmentin various natural processes. In today's world more and more attention is paid to minimizing the risks of natural disasters, ways to optimize the extraction of mineral resources, the use of alternative energy sources. Natural processes are characterized by complex properties of moving media, different spatial and temporal scales, a greater range of temperatures and pressures. In contrast to the classical technological applications where mechanical models for the past detailed tested for natural processes adequate to the task of building mechanical models is extremely important. In Russia and abroad there is a shortage of specialists with skills of mathematical models, analytical and numerical analysis of complex natural phenomena. As part of the program students will gain the necessary skills by the example of volcanic eruptions, avalanches and landslides, underwater turbidity currents, submarine landslides and their effects on various objects, as well as many of seepage flowsmultiphase media and liquids with complex rheology.
