Cost of stay in Moscow for  an international student per month

 

Moscow is a very interesting and entrancing city. Moscow life never stops even  for a minute. Theaters, cinemas, concerts, museums do attract you. Thus, Moscow provides various students’ benefits for purchase of tickets to many cultural events. Though, international students staying in Moscow for education need to know about this cost.

Generally, expenses of the first month of stay in Moscow is usually higher than later. Student has to pay various administrative charges, buy the necessary things and etc. As a rule, minimum expenses are equal of amount of  $ 800. The charges are usually declined in the next months (all depends on individual needs).
The main expenditure points for international students in Moscow are:

Accommodation;

- Food;

- Clothes;

- Mobile/internet;

- Transport;

- Cultural events.

Cost of accommodation is in the range of $ 260-600 per month.
Average monthly expenditure on food in Moscow is from $ 300-500. As a rule, the minimum mobile cost

is $ 20 and Internet cost is about $15 per month.

The clothes cost is on average $ 150-250.

Besides, in accordance with Russian law, all international students who reside in the territory of the Russian Federation for education, have to get voluntary medical insurance. The average cost of medical insurance in Moscow is $ 250. These costs are usually included in the charges of the first month.
Additionally, foreign citizens should get the procedure of Nostrification - Russian standardized form validation of education received abroad.

Nostrification procedure costs, on average, is $ 140.

Cultural events’ cost is about $ 25-100 per month.

If student has a student transportation card, transport costs is $ 20-30.

Caution!

An international student can get a named bank account after completing the registration process. Usually it takes about 10-15 days. Student will be enough to pay $ 5 to open a bank account. Parents can send money to the bank account of the student in Russia by wire transfer.
